Tsunami Miracle


The Imagery was taken by the DigitalGlobe Quickbird Satellite. It shows a portion of the Southwest coast of Sri Lanka, by the town of Kalutara. The after-image was taken on Sunday Dec. 26, 2004, at 10:20am local time, slightly less than four hours after the 6:28 a.m. (local Sri Lanka time) earthquake and shortly after the moment of Tsunami Impact.



"God Signed his Name in Tsunami, Sent it as a Punishment". Sri Lankan Muslims said. and subsquently carried by a number of other news outlets around the world reported that some Sri Lankan Muslims claimed to see the name 'Allah' in Arabic spelled out in the waves pictured in this imagery, although only 8% of Sri Lanka is reported to be of the Muslim faith. This contrasts to the island's Buddhist which make up 70% of the population while the Hindus and Christians account for 15% and 7% respectively.
